Community Service
ACHE of Greater Philadelphia is committed to maintaining an active role as a community service partner to organizations improving the quality of lives throughout the Delaware Valley. Our volunteer events and programs provide members, and their families and friends, an opportunity to serve communities in need of our support. By making a difference in this way, ACHE of Greater Philadelphia strengthens the bonds that we share as healthcare professionals with those we serve.
Each January our team of volunteers joins together in support of the nationally-recognized Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Additional community service activities are planned periodically throughout the year.
Volunteer projects are fun, informal experiences for all participants who are willing to roll up their sleeves for a few hours. Recent efforts have included making breakfast fr guests at the Ronald McDonald House, assembling food items at Philabundance for distribution to seniors in need, and working with Habitat for Humanity on a local housing project.
If you have an idea for a community service project or would like to get involved, please contact our Community Service Coordinator at communityservice@greaterphilly.ache.org.
Mentorship
The ACHE of Greater Philadelphia provides chapter members with a Mentoring Program to expand opportunities for learning and professional development for members at all levels, including students, early careerists, mid-careerists, and senior executives, as well as executives in transition. It is designed to promote professionalism and leadership in healthcare management, as well as greater involvement in ACHE of Greater Philadelphia.
Serving as a Mentor provides an opportunity to play a direct role in the professional development of the next generation of healthcare leaders. Sharing insights from personal experiences and “lessons learned” as a one-on-one advisor supports the growth of the Mentee, while adding to the leadership portfolio of the Mentor.
