2024 Breakfast with the Regents Event

ACHE of Greater Philadelphia, along with N.A.H.S.E of Delaware Valley, had the pleasure of hosting a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion event on August 29, 2024 at Thomas Jefferson Alumni Hall in Philadelphia. The event was titled "Understanding Implicit Bias and Its Impact on Healthcare Leadership." The event proved to be a remarkable gathering, with over 100 registrants and nearly the same number in attendance. Participants were treated to a vibrant and candid discussion led by an esteemed panel of experts:

  • Orien Barnes, SHRM-SCP, Vice President, Organizational Development and Effectiveness at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
  • Rosangely Cruz, DrPH, Vice President, Chief Diversity and Equity Officer, Main Line Health
  • Sumita Shetty, MHA, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, Jefferson Health

The event was moderated by Marcine Pickron-Davis, M.S.W.,Ph.D., Chief Diversity and Community Relations Officer, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
The dialogue focused on professional and personal interactions, highlighting the pervasive nature of implicit bias and its implications in healthcare leadership. Panelists shared strategies and tips, delivering insights from practical applications to inspirational guidance and empowering attendees to take actionable steps in their environments.

Throughout the event, attendees engaged actively, posing challenging questions that contributed to a rich exchange of ideas and experiences. The atmosphere was one of mutual respect and learning, fostering a deeper understanding of critical issues.
