He seeks to understand and leverage the data behind the business – to create performance models, support strategic decision making, align payor trends, nudge patients to seek out services, and ultimately ensure a return on investment.
As an ACHE Member, Michael recommends that early careerists should seek out mentorship opportunities early in their career. He notes,
“We are only as good as what we pass on to the next generation. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. Be yourself. Be creative. Your individual attributes will be your leverage points for success.”
Additionally, he notes that technical expertise is an accelerant to career advancement. He believes that “continual learning is everything.” ACHE is an attractive network for making those key connections and developing technical knowledge.
Michael has a very positive outlook on the future of healthcare. He sees tremendous opportunity for ambulatory growth, as well as, development of innovative payor and delivery models. He believes that it is critical to connect with our patients and understand where their pain points are – access, insurance coordination, family issues, etc. – to ensure that our strategic and tactical solutions align with holistic delivery of healthcare.
